Climbing assistance – Wind Turbine
Exolift is a portable motorised system used when carrying out maintenance operations inside wind turbines. It assists the user when climbing up and down the very long ladder inside the turbine, which significantly reduces the physical effort required to do so manually. Exolift is an intelligent system that instantly adapts to the user’s speed of movement, and supports up to 80% of their body weight. Exolift connects to a fixed strap attached to the wind turbine’s ladder (one attachment kit and one strap per wind turbine). Exolift is either assigned to the wind farm or the team of technicians. Only one EXOLIFT is required per wind farm.

Temporary platforms
Unlike permanent suspended platforms (suspended scaffolding), our cradles and bosun chairs are designed for carrying one or two people maximum, they are ideal for work in confined spaces with restricted access, and only require one electric personnel lifting hoist. Based on the configuration you require, the floor elements, guardrails, clamps and hoists can be assembled to form a suspended platform that is perfectly suited to the architecture and needs of your work site. Our temporary suspended modular platforms offer excellent working conditions and can be perfectly adapted to many different work sites. Their lightweight design not only makes them very easy to handle, it also means they can be deployed quickly and precisely on site. There is no congestion at ground level when a platform is used, and they do not emit noise or vibrations.

Permanent platforms
They are used for carrying out curtain wall cleaning or maintenance works. Connected to a suspension system (monorail, terrace carriage or davit arm), our permanent suspended access solutions facilitate motorised access to the entire facade. Unlike permanent suspended scaffolding, our permanent cradles and bosun chairs are designed for carrying one or two people maximum, they are ideal for work in confined spaces with restricted access, and only require one electric personnel lifting hoist. Permanent suspended platforms provide a very safe and convenient working environment. To meet the architectural constraints of high-rise buildings, we design and manufacture custom-made permanent suspended platforms, the dimensions, colours and functionalities of which are adapted to the needs of the building. Many accessories can be connected to our entire permanent range, such as aluminium sheet fairing, a removable tray for electric cables, spring-loaded winders, telescopic support wheels, spotlights, a rotating beacon, etc.

Safety locks
FIXATOR has developed two safety locks for protecting personnel: SECURICHUTE (overspeed), which is triggered in the event of platform tilting and overspeed > 30m/min; SECURISTOP, which is triggered if the platform is tilted > 14° or if there is no tension in the wire-rope (slack rope). If a platform drops suddenly or experiences excessively abnormal tilting, our fall-prevention systems will kick in and prevent the drop or tilt. Our overspeed device has an emergency stop button that can be operated manually. The load capacities of our safety locks are 500, 600, 800 and 1,000 kg. Our fall-prevention systems are fully compliant with the safety requirements of the European Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.

Rigging
The working wire-rope and safety wire-rope are used to suspend them from different types of hanging devices: suspension beams, parapet clamps, overhang parapet clamps. To adapt to all configurations – especially work sites with no option to suspend a platform from the roof, we offer a simple and secure alternative: suspending the platform from additional FIXEO masts, which eliminates the need to suspend it from beams or parapet clamps on the roof.
